We are based in Hertfordshire and cover other home counties such as Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Royal Berkshire and Middlesex, as well as North London.
Care Fee Advice
If you are considering the care needs of a friend or relative then you will know how difficult, complicated and stressful such a task can be.
Carematters recognise this and will provide you with clear, easy to understand help and advice. We have two specific objectives:
1. Ensuring the person who needs care can receive that care for the remainder of their lives
2. Preserving as much of their assets as possible for the next generation.
Paying Care Home fees can be expensive and costs can increase year on year. We work with you and your family to understand what help your loved one needs and consider all of the options available to you, so that you are able to fund the care home fees not just today but indefinitely.
We will guide you through the maze of legislation, benefits and financial options so that you can be sure that you are in the position to make the right decisions for your family.
Even if your final choice is to do nothing, at least you can be assured that all of the options have been considered and you were able to make an informed decision based upon the expertise of appropriately trained and qualified Independent Financial Advisers. This will allow you to step back, relax and concentrate on the welfare of the person needing care.
The person needing the care is our primary concern, but we will also help the family preserve as much of their assets as possible.
At Carematters we understand that you have worked hard to achieve what you now have. We take an holistic approach to financial planning, and because of our shared expertise are confident that we can address the most complicated or sensitive of financial situations.
We have built a solid reputation as providers of quality advice with a number of solicitors within the area and work closely with them as a result. If you are in facing the complexities of divorce, bereavement or redundancy, then we may be able to provide you with clear and practical support and advice.
Finding an IFA you can trust
Not only have Carematters achieved the prestigious title of Chartered Financial Planner, which demonstrates our commitment to our profession, but each member of the team is a member of SOLLA (Society of Later Life Advisers). We are proud to be members of the Trading Standards Office Buy with Confidence scheme. Directors Lorreine Kennedy and Brian Tabor have been awarded the ISO 22222 which demonstrates the robustness of our back office processes and systems.
Finally, each member of the advisory team have undergone CRB checks (Criminal Records Bureau) - and passed.
Chartered Financial Planner Firm
Carematters was awarded Chartered Financial Planner status by Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) in March 2014.
This is the professions gold standard for firms and confirms that we have satisfied rigorous qualification criteria. Although Chartered titles are steeped in history, they remain the benchmark of professional excellence and integrity. Only the UK's premier financial planning firms qualify for this title, and as a result if you ask for our help you can be assured that you are dealing with a firm who not only has technical expertise but also proven professionals.
Our Fees - Fair to our clients and our business
Whilst all financial advisors must tell a client what they will be paid for advice, it is very rare for a firm of financial advisors to display their fees on a website.
We are one of the few firms in the UK that offer fixed fees to their clients. These fees have been agreed upon based on the number of hours we expect it to take to do a specific task, together with profit for our business. We beleive this is fairer to our clients and ourselves. It is important to us that we are able to work profitably as this ensures we can offer our existing clients the highest level of continued support and keep and attract the best team.
The pension reforms announced by George Osborne in 2014 have changed the way we use our pensions forever. From April 2015 if you are over the age of 55, you will be able to access 100% of your pension fund (not those in company pension schemes). The money held in your pension fund can be accessed in much the same way as your money in your bank account can. Whilst their are taxation issues to be considered, this represents a monuntal change in how we use our pensions.
There has been talk of people taking their pension fund money and buying a 'lamborghini' or blowing it on a round the world cruise, but for the majority of us, ensuring that we have a comfortable retirement will still be their main priority. Making the right choices will be more important than ever.
Carematters have many years experience of helping clients understand their options, maximising their incomes and ensuring that they dont pay more tax than is necessary. Do call us now on 01442 800144
